FROSTBURG, Md.—The Southern Virginia University men's basketball team fell on the road 89-76 to Frostburg State University on Wednesday evening.
The Knights (4-16, 0-8 CAC) came out strong in the first, managing to hold onto a small lead throughout a good portion of the half. It wasn't until the 9:02 mark when a made jumper by the Bobcats (10-10, 6-3 CAC) finally gave them the lead that would never be relinquished. Frostburg extended the gap to 11 for a total of 52-41 heading into the locker room.
The second half was all Bobcats as they never let the margin drop below double digits, ultimately winning the game 89-76.
Jamier Cross was the leading scorer for the Knights with 18 points to go along with 13 rebounds. Three other Southern Virginia players finished the game in double digits: Trey Dill with 13 points, Michael Neufville with 12 and Alec Johnson chipping in 11.
The Knights return home in search of their first conference win of the season as they take on York College of Pennsylvania on Saturday, Feb. 2nd at 3 p.m.
