BUENA VISTA, Va.—The Southern Virginia University men's basketball team fell 74-63 against conference rival Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Knights fall to 0-8 in conference play and 4-15 on the season.
Lions guard Donyae Baylor-Carroll was the high scorer for the game with 26 points including five three pointers.
Southern Virginia struggled in the first half of action as they gave up a 44-32 lead heading into the locker room.
In the second, Penn State Harrisburg maintained a sizable lead throughout the majority of the half until the 1:17 mark when a pair of made free throw by Johnson cut the Lions (12-7, 4-4) lead to 5, giving the Knights a ray of hope. Southern Virginia was unable to convert on their last few offensive possessions, ultimately falling 74-63.
The Knights hit the road in search of their first conference win of the season as they'll face off against Frostburg State on Jan. at 7:30 p.m.
