ST. MARY'S, Md.—The Southern Virginia University men's basketball team traveled to Maryland on Saturday afternoon for a conference matchup against St. Mary's College of Maryland dropping the game 92-62.
The Knights (4-13, 0-6 CAC) and the Seahawks (7-10, 1-5 CAC) each looked for their first conference win of the season coming into the game. The Knights gave it their all but came up empty-handed.
At the intermission, the Knights trailed the Seahawks by 16. Austin Wood led the way for Southern Virginia in the first, scoring seven points on 3-4 shooting. The second half went similarly to the first as St. Mary's extended their lead to 30 by the end of the game.
Sam Armstrong was the high scorer for Southern Virginia on the game with 12 points all of which being three-pointers. Tyler McCreadie and Trey Dill also both finished in double digits with 11 and 10 points respectively.
The Knights continue conference action on Wednesday, Jan. 23 as they will travel to Fredericksburg Virginia to take on the Eagles of Mary Washington. The game is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.
