Knights Overpowered by Spartans

York, Pa.— The Southern Virginia University men's basketball team traveled to Pennsylvania to take on the Spartans of York (Pa.). The Knights came up empty handed as they fell by a score of 90-60.

The first half was rough for Southern Virginia as they were outscored 48-25. Alec Johnson and Jamier Cross were the bright spots in the half, as they put up 19 of the Knights 25 points.

The second half of action went a bit better for the Knights as they were able to keep the score reasonably close to the halftime deficit, but they still ultimately fell 90-60.

Alec Johnson ended up leading the way for Southern Virginia, scoring 15 points. Jamier Cross, while being held scoreless in the second half of play was the only other Knight in double figures, as he scored 10 points to go along with five rebounds.

Southern Virginia will continue their conference action as they return home to take on the Bobcats of Frostburg State. That game is scheduled to take place on the 9th of January at 7:30 p.m. in the Knight Arena.
