FROSTBURG, Md. – The Southern Virginia University men's basketball team suffered a tough 86-62 road loss at Frostburg State on Wednesday night in conference action.
The Bobcats (6-16, 5-10 CAC) jumped to an early lead that the Knights (4-18, 2-13 CAC) were never able to come back from, despite tying the game 8-8. By the end of the first half, Frostburg had a 20-point lead credited to their 48% shooting from the field and four three-pointers. The Knights shot 8-21 but weren't able to pull down any offensive boards.
Southern Virginia scored 16 more points in the second half than in the first, but Frostburg repeated it's 43-point half to win 86-62.
The Knights knocked down 20 free throws on 76.9% shooting from the stripe, but shot just 34.5% from the field and only hit two treys. They also lost the rebound battle 46-37.
Men's basketball heads to Salisbury University on Saturday in their final road game of the season. Tipoff is slated for 3 p.m. EST.
