Last Meeting

The Knights were outscored in the opening half as the Seahawks built an overwhelming 48-18 lead by halftime. Southern Virginia shot 32 percent from the field, 23 percent from three-point range and 50 percent on free throws in the first half and 36 percent from the field in the second half. The Seahawks shot 55 percent from the field, 47 percent from the arc and 80 percent from the line.

Junior guard Preston Eaton led the Knights with 12 points going 4-11 from the field with two three-pointers. Eaton also had a team-high seven rebounds and two steals during the game.

Junior forward Wesley Evans added 11 points to the Knights' total and tallied five rebounds. Kenyatta Ruia earned six points, while Michael Price and Chris Baker had five points apiece.

The Seahawks were led by Donn Hill, who totaled 14 points on 6-7 shooting from the field with two steals. Troy Spurrier had 11 points, Brendan McFall earned 10 and the bench totaled 31 points.

 

About the Knights

After defeating Frostburg State 85-72 on Wednesday, Southern Virginia will hit the road to play St. Mary's on Saturday.

Junior guard Preston Eaton leads the Knights with an average of 16.2 ppg. He is averaging 4.7 rebounds per game and shoots 75.5 percent from the line, 38.1 percent on threes and 41.5 percent from the field.

Junior guard Chris Baker averages 12.6 ppg, has 4.6 rebounds per game and shoots 77.8 percent from the stripe. Freshman guard Michael Price also averaged 77.8 percent from the line and leads the team with 36 steals and averages nearly 8.0 ppg.

Junior forward Wesley Evans contributes 10.2 ppg and continues to lead the team at 6.8 rebounds per game.

 

About the Seahawks

The Seahawks are shooting 46.2 percent from the field, 39 percent from three-point range and nearly 78 percent from the line. They average eight steals per game and 33 rebounds per game.

Laguerre leads the Saints at 15.2 ppg and is shooting 46 percent from the field, 38 percent from three-point range and 82 percent from the line in addition to leading the team with 40 steals. McFall leads the team with an average of 4.9 rebounds per game, 11.1 ppg and has 17 blocks this season.

Hill trails behind Laguerre with 14.1 ppg, averages 4.8 rebounds per game and shoots 90 percent from the stripe.
