Last Meeting

Marymount University ended the Knights' 28-game home winning streak on Nov. 26 with a close 83-82 victory. The Knights battled back from a 12-point deficit to end the first half at 38-32.  Eight minutes into the second half, Wesley Evans banked a three to tie the game and followed with a layup to take the lead.  The Knights battled, but with one minute left the Saints took the final lead at 83-82 and the Knights were unable to put in another basket.

The Knights out shot the Saints from the free-throw line 58.3 percent to 51.6 percent, but were outshot from the field and three-point range. The Knights had 15 points off 12 Saint turnovers but only had nine second-chance points compared to the Saints' 14.

Junior guard Preston Eaton led the team with 11 points, went 3-6 from the arc and 8-9 from the stripe. Senior forward Reed Scott led the Saints with 22 points and was 6-7 from the free-throw line.

About the Knights

Southern Virginia will head north to play Marymount University on Wednesday.

Junior guard Preston Eaton leads the Knights with an average of 16.4 ppg. Eaton totaled 21 points, three boards, four assists and four steals previously against the Saints. Eaton currently averages 4.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game.

Junior guard Chris Baker averages 12 ppg, leads the team in assists (62) as well as from the stripe at 81.8 percent. Junior forward Wesley Evans contributes 10.4 ppg and leads the team with nearly seven rebounds per game.

The Knights will look to come out strong in both halves, block shots and be more consistent from the field as they seek their second road win of the year.

About the Saints

The Saints are shooting 47.9 percent from the field, 34.8 percent from three-point range and 69 percent from the line. They average 6.1 steals per game and average nearly 37 rebounds per game.

Scott leads the Saints at 14.8 ppg and is shooting 53.9 percent from the field, 39 percent from three-point range and 77.3 percent from the line. Harwood also leads the team with an average of 8.7 rebounds per game.

Junior guard Antonio Rouse averages 12.3 ppg and tallied 19 points previously against the Knights. He shoots 48.4 percent from the field, 33 percent on threes, 61 percent from the free-throw line and has a team-high 26 steals.

At 6-8, junior forward JC Hoellich averages 7.3 rebounds per game and totaled nine rebounds against the Knights last time out. Offensively, Hoellich averages 11.4 points per game.
