BUENA VISTA, Va.—In a game that featured three lead changes and six ties, the Southern Virginia University men's basketball team hung on to defeat Penn State Harrisburg in overtime, 79-76, Wednesday evening at Knight Sports Arena in Buena Vista, Va.

Reversing fortunes from last Saturday's loss at Wesley College, the Knights (3-5) hit the boards hard against the Nittany Lions (5-7), earning 16 offensive rebounds and 41 total rebounds as Harrisburg managed six offensive rebounds. The feat resulted in 13 second-chance points for the Knights while the Nittany Lions logged five.

Tying a career-high 28 points, junior shooting guard Preston Eaton went 8-for-15 from the field and 5-for-7 from beyond the arc to lead the Knights' efforts.  In addition to converting seven of nine free throws, the Mapleton, Utah, native grabbed four rebounds, three assists and two steals during the game.

Junior forward Wesley Evans went 5-for-10 en route to 14 points, including a perfect 4-for-4 from the stripe. Achieving his third double-double of the season, the Crystal Lake, Ill., native also had 11 rebounds to go with a team-high five assists and two blocks.

Guard Chris Baker earned 11 points for the Knights in addition to six rebounds and four assists. Freshman Michael Price had eight points while newcomer Kenrick Hart pitched in five.

In a highly physical battle, Southern Virginia logged a season-high 34 fouls as four Knights fouled out. A total of 56 fouls were committed on the night between the teams.

Penn State Harrisburg was led by Marquese Daniels, who scored 22 points on 7-of-15 field goals, while William Doyle (17 points), Kenny Stone (13) and Winton Lyle also had significant outputs.

Southern Virginia next competes Saturday afternoon at home against St. Mary's (Md.) to resume conference play. Tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. shortly following the women's game at Knight Sports Arena.
