CEDAR CITY, Utah—The Southern Virginia University men's basketball team dropped its fourth consecutive road game on Wednesday falling at NCAA Division I Southern Utah University 58-75.
Southern Virginia (3-4) struggled offensively at Southern Utah (4-2) shooting only 39.6 percent from the field and 26.7 percent from behind the arc, while scoring less than 60 points for the second time this season.
Senior swingman Spenser Briggs (Goldsboro, N.C.) was the Knights' leading scorer on the evening netting 13 points on 3-of-10 shooting, including 5-of-6 from the free-throw stripe.
Junior guard Casey Nye (Kaysville, Utah) also added 11 points and five rebounds in the loss.
Men's basketball will rest on Thanksgiving before completing its ten-day, five-game road trip at Colorado Mesa University for the two-game Clarion Inn Tournament on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 25-26.
Southern Virginia will open the tournament against host-school Colorado Mesa (1-1) on Friday, Nov. 25 at 7 p.m. MDT.
