Knights Fall in Union College Classic

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – The Southern Virginia University men's basketball team struggled offensively Friday night against Union College, falling 77-66 in the opening game of the Union College Classic. Southern Virginia was never able to find an offensive rhythm against the Bulldogs as the Knights shot only 38 percent from the field and 54 percent from the foul line.

Junior Spenser Briggs led Southern Virginia with 12 points to go along with his eight rebounds. Freshman Ky Raymond provided the Knights with a double-double off the bench, scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 boards.  Freshman Anders Jacobson and sophomore Casey Nye each chipped in 10 points in the loss.

Southern Virginia will face Reinhardt University on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 1 p.m. in the second game of the Union College Classic.
