KNOXVILLE, Tn. Seven Southern Virginia Men's Basketball players scored double digit points as the Knights opened up 2010 with a strong 123-42 win over Knoxville. The Knights were led by Marquis Williamson who put in 16 points as the visitors scored early and often and coasted to the overwhelming win.
Williamson was joined by Bryce Pendleton (15-points), Chris Lewis (15-points), Ade Swann (14-points), Shereik Cousin (13-points), Casey Nye (11-points) and Corey Evans (10-points) as the players in double digits. The Knights were able to force 22 Knoxville turnovers and limited the hosts to only 16-of-57 shooting for the night.
Cousin and Dewayne Beamon led the visitors with 7-assists a piece. SVU out-rebounded Knoxville 35-18 and limited their fouls to only nine for the entire game.
SVU returns to action Jan. 12 when they host Shenandoah in Knight Arena. SVU was able to come back from a double-digit deficit in the last 5 minutes of the game, to steal victory from Shenandoah the last time the teams met. SVU moves to 9-4 on the season.
