BUENA VISTA, Va. — The Southern Virginia University field hockey team fell short 2-0 on Tuesday night at home against Ferrum College.
The Knights (0-7) defense shined in the first half, limiting the Panthers (2-5) as they held them to just two shots.
In the second half, the offenses picked up the tempo. The first score of the game came in the 38th minute on an unassisted Faith Bibbo goal to Ferrum the first lead of the game 1-0.
After nearly 20 minutes of scoreless play, the Panthers sealed the game 2-0 when Kailen Beckner scored her first goal of the evening on an assist coming from Bibbo.
At goal was Kyla Nase who recorded three saves. Nase currently sits third in Division III with 15.17 saves per game and fourth in total saves with 94. She also leads the CAC in saves and is second in save percentage at 72.9 percent.
The Knights will now travel to play Bryn Athyn on Sept. 28 at noon.
