Knights Overpowered by Yellow Jackets

ASHLAND, Va. — The Southern Virginia University field hockey team fell Wednesday night on the road to the Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets 9-0.

The Knights (0-2) fell behind early after three first quarter goals from the Yellow Jackets (2-0).

Southern Virginia entered halftime down 4-0 after holding Randolph-Macon to a solo goal.

In the second half, the Yellow Jackets extended the lead, adding five more goals to put away the Knights 9-0.

Freshman goalkeeper Kyla Nase produced a strong outing for the Knights tallying an impressive 27 saves in the loss.

The Knights head next to game three of their five-game road trip as they will square up against Goucher on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 11:30 a.m.
