Rob McCoy joins the Southern Virginia football staff as the Defensive Back Coach. 

Most recently, McCoy served as an assistant coach at a number of different high schools and positions in New Jersey: Pemberton High School (WRs, QBs, DBs), Woodrow Wilson High School (OC, DBs), Winslow (DCs, QBs), Camden Catholic (DBs), Millville High School (LBs). He also served in the Willingboro Panthers Youth programs as a head coach for 8 years.

Prior to coaching, McCoy was captain of the University of New Hampshire Wildcats in 1995 where he received second team All-Yankee Conference Honors as a strong safety and earned the team's Distinguished Service Award.  

Rob played on the University of New Hampshire Lacrosse Team in 1993 and 1994 and played on the Wildcats Basketball Team in 1992-93.  After entering the NFL draft in 1996 Rob enjoyed stints in the Arena Football League until 2001.  

This Amityville, New York native played quarterback at Copiague High School.

McCoy graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor's Degree in English.  He married the former Tamika Capps and together they have three children; Robert Jr., Aniyah Raine, and Aubree Skye.
