FOREST, Va. — Southern Virginia University senior Neil Davis was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Football Defensive Player of the Week.
Davis receives the honors after starring in the Knight's 30-17 win over Guilford College on Saturday. His play against the Quakers was crucial to the Knight's victory, having two interceptions in the red zone, increasing his program leading total since joining Division III to 14. Davis' second interception is the longest interception touchdown in program history (100+ yards) and is the first defensive touchdown Southern Virginia has had since the 2017 season.
The Salem, Utah, native added a critical fourth-down tackle against Guilford to add to his resume for the day. Davis ended with ten total tackles on Saturday, seven of which were solo.
The Knights bring their win total in the ODAC to two after defeating Guilford College. Washington and Lee await Southern Virginia on Saturday, Nov. 9, for a cross-town battle. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
