BRIDGEWATER, Va. — The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) announced the 2017 College Division All-State football teams on Saturday, naming Southern Virginia University safety Neil Davis to the All-State Second Team.
Davis was also honored by the NJAC, being voted on the All-NJAC Second Team Defense. He led the Knights' defense with three interceptions for the year and was second on the team with 74 total tackles. The sophomore also forced a pair of fumbles and broke up two passes in 10 games.
Athletes from 12 different Virginia colleges were chosen for 50 spots on the All-State First and Second Teams.
VaSID names 27 all-state teams in 15 sports each year, as well as an Academic All-State squad and an all-sports champion in both the University and College Divisions. Membership in VaSID is open to all media relations professionals working at a University or conference in the state of Virginia.
