About the Knights
Southern Virginia University (0-5) is in search of its first win of the season Saturday as the team faces off against the Apprentice School Builders (1-3) in the 2017 Homecoming game.

Last week, despite a hard effort, were unable to find a rhythm against the No. 22 Wesley Wolverines and fell 49-0.

As a team, the Knights average 127.2 rushing yards per game with an average of 3.0 yards per rush. They also average 10 points per game throughout the season.

Defensively, the Knights have totaled 375 tackles and 5 sacks thus far. They are looking to continue their defensive prowess against the Builders.

Southern Virginia Coach Joe DuPaix
This is Coach DuPaix's second straight season as head coach of Southern Virginia University. Previously, DuPaix was at Brigham Young University (2011-12) as the Cougar's recruiting coordinator and running backs coach. Working under former head coach Bronco Mendenhall, DuPaix was a member of the staff that led the Cougars to an 18-8 overall record which included back-to-back bowl wins.

Before BYU, DuPaix was a member of the coaching staff at the United States Naval Academy for three years. While there, he coached the slot backs. During his time in Annapolis, the Midshipmen participated in three consecutive bowl games, won two Commander-In-Chief trophies and ranked in the top-ten nationally for rushing offenses each season.

Coach DuPaix is excited to lead the Knights for the second straight year, "I love the way the guys are working and their focus. They are all very committed to the team. For me, it is all about the players."

Outlook from Coach DuPaix
We are excited to get on the field and execute the details of our assignments in Saturday's contest!  Apprentice is a good team with quality players, we need to play at a highest level in all phases of our game!
