BUENA VISTA, Va.—The United States Collegiate Athletic Association today announced senior defensive lineman Dylan Hall as USCAA Defensive Player of the Week for the weeks of October 30 and November 6.
"Dylan is very deserving of this honor leading one of the best defenses I have coached," said fourth-year Head Coach DeLane Fitzgerald. "He has taken his game to another level in his final year, especially over the past few weeks."
On Oct. 27, Hall (Redding, Calif.) recorded a team-high three tackles-for-loss and two sacks finishing with six total tackles (5 solo, 1 assisted) in the 21-6 road victory against Alfred State College.
Hall followed-up his performance against the Pioneers with an additional eight tackles (1 solo, 1 assisted), one sack and a blocked extra-point attempt—for his single-season program record fifth blocked kick of the year—in the Knights' 27-6 win over Webber International University on Saturday's Senior Day last week.
Through ten games played in 2012, Hall has recorded 10.5 sacks giving him 14.5 career sacks—both Southern Virginia University football records.
