BUENA VISTA, Va.—The United States Collegiate Athletic Association today announced sophomore linebacker Robert Robbins as USCAA Defensive Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks due to his performance in last Saturday's 20-14 loss to Concordia-Selma

"Robert [Robbins] has performed at a high level for us all season and especially throughout the past few weeks," said fourth-year Head Coach DeLane Fitzgerald. "He works hard in everything he does which is translating to the field on game day."

Robbins (Glendale, Ariz.) led Southern Virginia with 15 tackles (5 solo, 10 assisted) on Saturday while also recording 1.5 tackles-for-loss, four pass break-ups plus a fumble recovery on the Hornets' first offensive play of the game.

In each of the past three contests, Robbins has led the defense in tackles and has recorded a team-high 75 tackles (34 solo, 41 assisted) through eight games for the Knights so far.

The USCAA also named Robbins Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 9 after he made 12 stops (6 solo, 6 assists) including 1.5 tackles-for-loss in Southern Virginia's 20-14 comeback win over USCAA-rival The Apprentice School on Oct. 5 at Salem Stadium.
