Neely Pendleton enters her first year as the head coach of Southern Virginia's Cheer Team.
Pendleton graduated from Southern Virginia with a Bachelors of Art in Spanish and a minor in early childhood education. While attending Southern Virginia she was a member of the varsity cheer team for four years and served as co-captain. She was a student travel advisor for travel study program to Madrid, Spain and a member of the Spanish club.
After graduating she served for two years as the head coach of the cheerleading program before accompanying her husband to graduate school at Virginia Tech.
Currently Pendleton is currently pursuing her Spanish teacher-licensure certification at the University of Virginia at Wise and working in the admissions department of Southern Virginia.
Prior to Southern Virginia, Pendleton worked as a Spanish teacher for Montgomery County Public Schools in Christiansburg and Riner, Virginia. From 2013 to 2015 she served as the head cheerleading coach at Blacksburg High School and Auburn Middle School.
Coach Pendleton served a Spanish-speaking mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tempe, Arizona from 2007 to 2009.
Neely and her husband, Bryce, currently reside in Buena Vista, Virginia with their puppy, Tia.
