Neely Pendleton enters her 3rd year as Head Spirit Squad Coach with the Southern Virginia University Spirit Squad.
Pendleton has 10 years of coaching experience. She graduated from Southern Virginia with a BA in Spanish and a minor in Early Childhood Education. While attending Southern Virginia University she was a member of the Varsity Cheer team for four years and served as co-captain before graduating in 2011.
After graduating she served as the Head Cheer Coach before accompanying her husband to graduate school at Virginia Tech. Pendleton worked as a Spanish teacher, and Head Cheerleading Coach, for Montgomery County Public Schools.
From 2007-09 Coach Pendleton served a Spanish-speaking mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tempe, Arizona.
Neely and her husband, Bryce, the Creative Director at Southern Virginia, currently reside in Lexington, Virginia.
Karley Bergeson enters her first year as the Assistant Cheer Coach with the Southern Virginia Spirit Squad.
Bergeson graduated from Brigham Young University Hawaii in 2017 with her Bachelors in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Biomedicine. She completed her degree as a physiotherapist intern in Cape Town, South Africa. She hopes to continue her education by earning her degree in Physical Therapy.
Coach Bergeson has experience in choreographing competition, halftime, and parade routines for various teams. In 2018, she served as a co Dance/Drill coach for Mountainside Middle School.
Karley is excited to be back on the east coast and assisting the Southern Virgina University cheer team in reaching their full potential this year. She currently resides in Buena Vista.
