Neely Pendleton was named Head Spirit Squad Coach after her first year at the helm of Southern Virginia's Cheer Team.
Pendleton graduated from Southern Virginia with a Bachelors of Art in Spanish and a minor in early childhood education. She was a student travel advisor for travel study program to Madrid, Spain and a member of the Spanish club. While attending Southern Virginia she was a member of the varsity cheer team for four years and served as co-captain before graduating in 2011.
After graduating she served as the head cheer coach before accompanying her husband to graduate school at Virginia Tech. Pendleton worked as a Spanish teacher for Montgomery County Public Schools. From 2013-15 she served as the head cheerleading coach at Blacksburg High School and Auburn Middle School.
Coach Pendleton served a Spanish-speaking mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tempe, Arizona from 2007-09.
Neely and her husband, Bryce, currently reside in Buena Vista, Virginia with their puppy, Tia.
Stacey Hanson enters her first year as the assistant cheer coach.
Hanson was born and raised in Dallas, Texas where she started her cheerleading career in middle and high school.
After graduating high school, Stacey attended college at BYU-Idaho where she participated on the stunt team. While there she met her husband, Seth, and they moved to Boise, Idaho to work and finish school at Boise State University.
Currently Stacey serves as the Accounts Payable Coordinator at Southern Virginia. She plans to finish her degree in Accounting.
Stacey and Seth, who is a member of the Southern Virginia football team, currently reside in Buena Vista, Virginia.
