Logan Mann has been the head baseball coach at Southern Virginia University since the 2010 season.

Mann will be leading the team into the third year of Capital Athletic Conference play.

In his first year as head coach, Mann led baseball to the program’s first .500 season (21-21) as the Knights returned to the USCAA Small College World Series for the first time since 2005.

The next season, Mann coached the Knights to a program-best 30-10 record capped by a second-place finish at the 2011 USCAA Small College World Series.

The 2011 Knights also set several offensive and defensive program records under Mann, including highest team batting average (.337), highest team slugging percentage (.509), most hits (415), most runs scored (311), most runs batted in (281), highest fielding percentage (.954) and lowest earned run average (3.60).

In 2012 and 2013, Mann led Southern Virginia to back-to-back 18-win seasons. In his four seasons at the helm, Mann has taken the Knights to four straight USCAA Small College World Series berths and .500-plus seasons—both program records.

Prior to coaching, Mann was a three-year starter on Southern Virginia’s baseball team as infielder and pitcher from 2007-2009.

Mann served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tegucigalpa, Honduras and earned his bachelor’s degree from Southern Virginia University in business management and Spanish. Mann is currently working on a master's degree in Sports Management and Administration.

He resides in Buena Vista with his wife and three kids.

Tyler Cox is going into his fifth year as an assistant coach for the Southern Virginia University baseball program.

Cox played during the 2010-2013 seasons and helped win more games (87) in program history while helping the Knights to postseason appearances each year. Cox also participated on the 2011 squad — baseball's winningest season in its 14-year history - with a 30-10 mark and a second-place finish at nationals.

In his four years, Cox set all-time records such as second in career games started (130), third in RBI (110), total bases (211) and hits (149). He also tied for the Knights' home run lead (3) while ranking second in slugging (.567) and on-base percentage (.457) and third in batting average (.367).

Cox played for the Santa Fe Fuego in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and helped them to a Pecos League championship and Northern Division title during the summer of 2014.

He graduated with a bachelors degree in Business Management and Leadership from Southern Virginia University in May 2014.

Tyler and his wife, MaKenzie, the head women's soccer coach at Southern Virginia, reside in Buena Vista.

Brian Smith recently completed his first year as the Southern Virginia University pitching coach. 

Smith began coaching baseball in 2003 at Defiance College before heading to Maryville College for one season. In 2006 he started his first of nine seasons at Washington & Lee University as the pitching coach.

Smith received his Masters of Education, Sports Science from Defiance College. He did his undergrad at Tiffin University in Business Administration and led Tiffin in both saves and ERA for two seasons. He currently lives in Lexington, Virginia.
