Bobby Humphrey is an assistant baseball and catchers coach at Southern Virginia University.
Prior to Southern Virginia, Humphrey most recently served as varsity assistant baseball coach at The Miller School of Albermarle in 2012. From 2008-09, he was head varsity baseball coach at Robert E. Lee High School where he directed the 2009 squad to its first regional playoff berth in nine seasons.
During the 2008 summer, Humphrey was also assistant coach for the Staunton Braves of the Valley Baseball League—an NCAA-sanctioned collegiate summer baseball league.
Along with his coaching duties at Southern Virginia, he is also an associate scout for a Major League Baseball organization.
Humphrey earned his bachelor’s degree from Spring Arbor University where he was a four-year letter winning catcher under legendary head coach Hank Burbridge. In 2015 he published a second edition of his book, "The Tools of Greatness," which details all aspects of being a catcher.
