SALEM, Va.— The Southern Virginia University baseball team stole a win on the road against Roanoke College Tuesday evening, earning a 3-1 victory and extending their current win streak to six games.
The last run of the game for the Knights came in the top of the third on another Critchfield groundout that would bring in Nase giving Southern Virginia an early 3-0 lead.
The Maroons scored their lone run of the game in the bottom of the eighth on a sacrifice fly but the Knights defense sealed the game with the final 3-1.
The Knights' offense collected seven hits with four walks leaving 11 on base.
Southern Virginia pitched six pitchers, Jaxon Newbold picked up the win in two innings allowing a hit and recording a strikeout. Matt Roll registered his second save of the season throwing two innings and chalked up two K's.
The Knights now enter Capital Athletic Conference play Friday, Mar. 15 at 3:30 p.m. against York (Pa.).
