2012 Southern Virginia Baseball Prospects Camp

BUENA VISTA, Va.—The Southern Virginia University baseball team is hosting its 2012 Prospects Camp for local youth ages 14 and up on January 21 from noon to 6 p.m. EDT in the Knight Sports Arena

Southern Virginia's prospects camp will feature two sessions: Session One—noon to 3 p.m.—focuses on hitting and positional defense, while Session Two—3 p.m. to 6 p.m.—is tailored specifically to pitching instruction.

The camp will be staffed by Southern Virginia's baseball coaching staff—third-year Head Coach Logan Mann, first-year Assistant Coach Dave Ramsey and first-year Assistant Coach Grant Woods—as wells as 10-year MLB veteran pitcher Reggie Harris and elite travel team coach and owner of The Yard Baseball and Softball Training Facility Ricky Gregg.

The 2011 Knights also ranked first all-time among Southern Virginia baseball teams in numerous offensive and defensive categories, including highest team batting average (.337), most hits (415), most RBI's (281) and highest fielding percentage (.954), while their pitching staff combined for the most wins (30), most strikeouts (205), most shutouts (6), lowest opponent batting average (.256) and lowest earned run average (3.60) in Southern Virginia baseball history.
