BUENA VISTA, Va. Head Coach Logan Mann has announced the 2010 Schedule for the Southern Virginia Baseball team. The Knights will open on a 3-game road stretch with a double-header and single game against UVA- wise and Averett respectively. The season is highlighted by 17 home games. This number represents the largest number of home games in program history.
"I think this is a very competitive schedule," said Mann. "We have games against good competition, and they should help us get better. Our ultimate goal is to get to the USCAA Tournament, and I feel that the games we have will give us a chance to win and gain experience at the same time."
The schedule is highlighted by 14 games against NCAA D.III opponents. The teams include several ODAC and USA South colleges and universities in the area with familiar foes in Washington & Lee and Eastern Mennonite. SVU will also welcome a trio of USCAA foes in Penn State- Beaver, Penn State- Harrisburg and Hiwasse College.
Mann felt that this could be the most competitive schedule the Knights have faced ever, and stressed that the team should be well prepared for a run to the post-season. Three more games could be added to the schedule soon. all home games for the Knights are played at Perry McCluer High School.
