 Head Football Coach DeLane Fitzgerald has announced the dates of the second SVU Football Contact Camp. The Knight coaching staff will run this camp that will emphasize proper football fundamentals and technique. The camp will be held on the 27th of July and run until the 31st. Each session of the camp starts at 5 P.M. and runs until 7 P.M. The cost of the camp is $40, and is for camper’s ages 12 to 18. All campers must have middle or high school eligibility to participate.
"This is a great opportunity for players to receive 1-on-1 instruction before the start of their season," said Coach Fitzgerald. SVU will unveil the new practice fields for the first time for this camp. The centerpiece of the complex is the synthetic turf field which the camp will take place on. The Southern Virginia University Wrestling team is proud to announce their first summer camp in program history. Coach Nate Casperson will lead a staff of current team members and guest coaches in a week long camp for wrestlers ages 12-19. The High Intensity Camp will be an opportunity for young wrestlers to learn the skills necessary to compete at high levels. The camp will take place from July 27th-August 1. The camp will be held in Knight Arena, and in other SVU Athletic Facilities. 
The awards keep coming for two-time National Champion Peter Rose. Rose was recently named to the Virginia Sports Information Directors All-State Wrestling Team. This is Rose's second time being named to the team after he recieved recognition last year. Rose went 29-1 this past year was the national champion for the National Collegiate Wrestling Association's 157lb weight class, and was named an All-American, from the NCWA, for his efforts.
