Keaton Epps enters his first season as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Southern Virginia.
A member of the Southern Virginia football program, the Wake Forest, North Carolina, native played in 10 games in 2013 and had 28 solo tackles and 23 tackle assists, earning 8.5 sacks for a loss of 46 yards. He also had two forced fumbles and five pass breakups on the year.
For his achievements, he was named to the 2013 All-USCAA first team and to the second team defense of the Roanoke Times College Division All-State football team. In the classroom, Epps was named USCAA All-Academic and a 2013 Capital One Academic All-District recipient
He also made the 2014 spring semester president’s and provost’s lists and was named to the 2013-14 VaSID Academic All-State team.
Epps joined the program in the spring of 2013 after transferring from Snow College in Ephraim, Utah. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Santa Rosa, California.
Keaton and his wife, Lillian, a former member of the women’s lacrosse program at Southern Virginia, reside in Buena Vista.
