Chris Pendleton has been the sports information director at Southern Virginia since 2011.
Prior to his current position, Pendleton served as a sports information assistant at Southern Virginia, as well as an assistant men's basketball coach helping the program to its best record (24-8) and first USCAA national championship in 2010-11.
Pendleton was a philosophy major and politics minor at Southern Virginia University and earned USCAA All-American, USCAA Academic All-American and VaSID All-State Second Team honors as a member of the men's basketball team. He was also the university's first ESPN Academic All-American.
After graduating as Southern Virginia's valedictorian in May 2008, Pendleton completed an internship at The White House in The Office of Presidential Speechwriting where he performed annotation, editing, fact-checking and research for major Presidential speeches and remarks.
Pendleton is currently pursuing a master's in communication from The Johns Hopkins University with an emphasis in Public and Media Relations.
He and his wife Tiffane live in Buena Vista with their puppy, Franklin.
