Tricia Nielsen is a financial services associate and assistant women’s basketball coach at Southern Virginia University. 

A native of Bellevue, Wash., Nielsen first came to Southern Virginia as a student in 2006 and was a member of Chi Epsilon Omega—the university's national business honor society—as well as the women’s basketball team. 

In 2008, Nielsen earned USCAA honorable mention all-American and academic all-American honors as a key member of the women’s basketball team that finished third at the USCAA national tournament. The following season, she repeated as an academic all-American, while adding USCAA all-American honors to her accolades. Nielsen was also selected to the 2009 USCAA all-tournament team after leading the Knights to a second-place finish at the national tournament.

After graduating in May 2009 with a degree in business administration she joined the university’s financial services office. In fall 2010, she joined the women's basketball coaching staff.

Nielsen and her husband reside in Buena Vista, Va.
