MCCaulley then made a trip abroad as he coached for the Ravenna Team in Ravenna, Italy for the 1991-1992 season. 1993 saw him at eventual SVUrival Apprentice, as the defensive coordinator. The two year stint then led him to his first trip to Rockbridge County with time spent as the linebackers coach at the Virginia Military Institute. In 2004 he returned to Apprentice, and then followed that in 2007 with a trip to the other Lexington, VA school, Washington & Lee.
